OCTOBER FILE APPEAR IN MOVIE “ZOMBIE DRIFTWOOD”.
UK “Noise Rockers” October File are set to appear in the new movie by Emmy Award winning director Bob Carruthers. Bob Carruthers is a huge fan of the band and thinks the track “Falter” from the band’s highly acclaimed and recently released “Our Souls To You” album (via Candlelight Records) is the track for the movie. Bob stated “ I recently saw the band live with Fear Factory and they blew me away, “Falter” just suits my movie so we started talking to them and have now got the band written into the movie, I am very happy to have the band in the film, it should be great fun having them play to 200 odd zombies”.  The band will have to do some acting as the band that turn up for a “Battle of the Bands” competition and end up becoming zombies themselves. The track “Falter” will be also be the music for the end credits. October File bass player Steve Beatty commented: “It all looks like great fun, we go to the Caymans to film and get a sun tan, drink beer and get eaten, what could be better?!”

Candlelight Records will release the full soundtrack CD.  Music from the following acts will also be used in the movie as incidentals: City Of Fire, Divinity, Altar Of Plagues, Blood Of Kingu, Obsidian, Nachtmystium, Wodensthrone, Gnaw Their Tongues, Winterfylleth, Demonic Resurrection, Yaotl Mictlan, Woe and Abigial Williams.

    Tourists from hell
The 75 minute-long film follows a small group of people fighting off marauding zombies who get to the Cayman Islands on a mystery cruise ship that shows up with no one on board – or at least, no one alive.

“What I liked was this idea of the cruise ship that disappears in the Bermuda Triangle and appears in North Side with no passengers. There are lots of opportunity for satire, like zombies in Hawaiian shirts and shorts,” Mr. Carruthers said.

“It follows all the conventions of the genre. People get trapped and besieged,” he said.  “Although the film is about zombies and people being bitten and killed, it also promises plenty of comic relief.”

The film makers plan to have the zombie flick ready for release in the UK and US in October, in time for Halloween, and to be selling it to the international TV market at MIPCON in Cannes, also in October. “Provisionally, we’re looking at Saturday, 25th September for a screening in Cayman,” the director said. Alongside Bob Carruthers as Producer is David McWhinnie who produced "Obseldia" – winner of the award for best Cinematography at this year's Sundance Festival.

The DVD release is set for worldwide release in October via Komet Media.

Songwriter Paul Logue commented, "We receive emails from our fans time and time again, but none moved me more than the one I received from Jared Hochstettler. He put together a montage on You Tube featuring some really powerful images of homeless men, women and children. It stopped me dead in my tracks and made me think about how fortunate I am. Right there and then I decided to do something about it and I’m delighted to gain the support of my band mates, record labels and Music By Mail in Germany, who assisted us with launching the track onto the worldwide portals, with a view to raising some money to help Shelter and Feed The Children. I urge everyone to simply watch the video and if you feel as moved as I did buy the download and do your bit to help ease the suffering of those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Three decades after recording their first incendiary songs as teenagers reared in the budding hardcore scene in Los Angeles, Bad Religion are marking their 30 year anniversary with a new record, filled with both the free thinking ire that has fueled the band from the very beginning, and a certain introspection that comes only from long-lived experience.

"While we're celebrating our 30th anniversary as a band this year it's also a time when Greg and I have embarked on new creative pursuits which have informed our songwriting process. I'm a new parent again and Greg a new author having just completed his first book Anarchy Evolution," says Gurewitz. "So the songs are a distillation of where we've been and who we are now...a natural evolution of creativity."

Working again with producer Joe Barresi (Queens Of The Stone Age, Tool), Bad Religion entered the studio armed with 16 songs that are filled with deeply personal experiences, cautionary tales and a developing worldview, spanning the gauntlet from their signature high energy punk rock to a more introspective melodic sound.

"We wouldn't embark on this new creative endeavor, Brett wouldn't have embarked on parenthood, I wouldn't have embarked on writing a book, if we hadn't reached a place in our lives where we felt the confidence that we had something to offer and that's what these songs represent," adds Graffin. "They represent a new found confidence that things are starting to make sense to us."

"Being a new parent has colored my whole world," continues Gurewitz. "As a result I've written songs that at least for me, are somewhat less angsty and more introspective and vulnerable. The experience has emboldened me to take some creative risks as a songwriter that I've not allowed myself to take before."

Risks that nevertheless have already been embraced by the band's passionate fans, as evidenced by the overwhelming response to two new songs, "Resist Stance" and "Won't Somebody." The songs were debuted during a series of live shows celebrating Bad Religion's anniversary, recorded and given away as part of a free digital album, 30 Years Live, as a thank you to their fans for their support over the last three decades. Rabid fans immediately lit up blogs and message boards with raves about the new material and excitement over the new record, which will be out this fall. In the meantime, Bad Religion continue to tour the world, bringing their amazing live show to more new countries and playing more shows with each passing year.

Gene Simmons has been accused of sexual assault and sexual battery.

Make-up artist Victoria Jackson has filed a lawsuit against the KISS singer – whose real name is Gene Klein – alleging he approached her when she was working at Los Angeles’ ESPN Sports Center last November and said in 'a lecherous and inappropriate manner, 'I like you.’'

According to the documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Victoria was 'surprised by the overtly sexual attention'.

She accuses the 60-year-old rocker of grabbing and hugging her, to which she responded: 'Ouch. You are hurting me.'

She then tried to back out of his way because 'his spiked chest was jabbing her in the face'.

Gene refused to let go of the make-up artist, instead 'he pulled her even closer, tightly, pinning her arms and said, 'No not yet.’ '

He is then accused of 'humping her to the extent she could feel his groin grinding into her".

Gene then allegedly said: 'Aw, That’s better! Now you can go.'

According to RadarOnline.com, Victoria – who described the rocker’s behaviour as 'vile and inexcusable' – is seeking over $500,000 in damages.

She claims she has suffered humiliation, shame, embarrassment, anger, anxiety, loss of sleep and depression.

However, the 'Crazy Crazy Nights’ star has filed a suit against Victoria claiming she wanted money and no assault occurred.

During this time, I have come to know Ben much better than I ever did during the years that he represented the EHC. He is my close friend, and comrade in arms. He is a proud patriotic American, who firmly believes in the values that this great nation was founded on... among those being that all of us are created equal.

"My time with Terrorfakt has introduced me to many other associated acts and musicians, and to Terrorfakt's fanatically loyal fan base, all being of various ethnic and even religious backgrounds. Accordingly, I can categorically deny that any of these accusations have any merit to them. This smear campaign against Ben is perpetuated by an Industrial music outcast named Rachel Mandelson. She is more 'popularly' known as the idiot behind 'Experiment Haywire.' She is an individual who has failed to garner any success on her own, and has taken to making slanderous and libelous accusations against a much more popular and successful act, in order to gain attention for herself.

Actor Christopher Lee, who has appeared in movies such as "Lord of the Rings," "The Wicker Man," and "Star Wars," has announced he will be releasing a symphonic metal album under the title "Charlemagne." The album is focused on the story of King Charlemagne, the First Holy Roman Emperor. Samples from the album, which will be released on March 15th, 2010, can be found at this location.

The band also issued the following statement about the new album:

"The Carandinis, Lee's maternal ancestors, were given the right to bear the coat of arms of the Holy Roman Empire by the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa. Through his Carandini ancestors, Christopher Lee has a direct link to Charlemagne, and has decided for the first time in his life to pay homage to his distinguished ancestor, who is credited as 'The Father of Europe'. Charlemagne is a concept album with original words and symphonic metal music. Composer Marco Sabiu, best known for his collaborations with Kylie Minogue, Take That, Pavarotti, Morricone, has created a truly epic canvas by introducing modern metal symphonies, in a style which resembles a movie score. Marie-Claire Calvet, a graduate from Bristol University, transports the listener into 'The Dark Ages', with a very powerful storyline and mesmerising lyrics. A full orchestra, heavy metal musicians, choir and special guest vocalists bring the legend of Charlemagne to life."

Early Graves San Francisco's Early Graves have completed their follow up to 2008's debut We: The Guillotine. Their new record, simply entitled Goner, is a ragged, pissed off amalgamation of heavy self-medication, yearlong blackouts and all the depression of an a thousand yard stare. The title track is available for streaming here - www.myspace.com/earlygravessf.

Combining the best elements of Hellacopters/Turbonegro rock n' roll with Black Flag's and Bad Brains' inspired hardcore with a crushing balance of both Morbid Angel's heaviness and the raw intensity of power violence pioneers Dropdead and Masskontroll, Early Graves have set the bar for complete, unhinged self destruction.

"I don't know." states vocalist Makh Daniels, "I guess the record is about alcoholism and all the bullshit that comes with it. All the "why's?" and "How come's?" and our stupid fucking excuses for it. I can't say that this will be the heaviest record you've ever heard or the best recording or the most musically precise but I can say that at least, it's fucking honest."

Goner was recorded at Louder Studios (Melvins, WITTR, Saviours) by Tim Green (The Fucking Champs/Nation of Ulysses) and Mastered by John Golden at Golden Mastering. Artwork was completed by Nat Damm Design (Monotonix, Akimbo, The Fucking Wrath).

Goner will be released worldwide June 22nd, 2010 via Ironclad/Metal Blade Records. We: The Guillotine is available for purchase now on MetalBladeStore.com.

Poland's Stos has issued the following statement about bassist Janusz Soloma dying on stage on May 8th, 2010:

"The show of bands Animate, Stos and Crystal Viper scheduled for May 8, 2010 (Myslowice, Poland), will be remembered as one of the most sad and tragic ever. Janusz Soloma, the bass player of Stos, has died on stage in the middle of the show, after having heart attack. He was 48 years old. Janusz joined re-activated Stos in 2000, and played all the shows and recorded all the materials with the band since then. He joined on the other side the Stos guitarist Jan Kardas, who died in December 2006, after being diagnosed with cancer, earlier that year. In that case all gigs are canceled!"

Bart Gabriel (Stos' manager between 2000 and 2004, current Crystal Viper manager) of Hard Rocker Management also commented: "Sometimes words can't express the real feelings, and we still can't believe in what happened. We are sharing the sadness and tears with the friends and family of Janusz, and of course with his band mates from Stos. This is simply unreal."

After being kept in total secret for as long as nearly a quarter of a century, far from the reach of mortals, one of the most evil and uncompromising sounding Death/Thrash demos ever is going to be unleashed by Israhellbanger Records in the classic tape format, exactly as it should have been done back in 1986, when it was recorded! POSSESSED by the will to KREATE total chaos and SODOMy, these 3 young Israeli maniacs forged a demo that makes MORBID VISIONS sound like ARISE! BESTIAL DEATH created the vortex of sonic violence that is SUICIDE OF THE IMMORTAL by practicing the methods of destruction used only in South America back in those days, by such acts as VULCANO, PARABELLUM and PENTAGRAM. Expect 5 utterly raw and chaotic sounding rituals of blasphemy that spit on all the nowadays technical and sterile sounding so-called “extreme metal”. SUICIDE OF THE IMMORTAL is scheduled to be released in June 2010 on pro-tape, featuring a 1” logo pin and an A4 poster. No “special” versions, no efforts to raise the “quality” of the sound and no compromises will be made, a genuinely extreme Metal demo that sounds like a genuinely extreme Metal demo is what you’ll get! Feel free to check out 2 tunes from this upcoming release "Nuclear Hell" and "Bestial Death" at the band's MySpace and Last.fm pages!

The U.S. military has been using heavy metal in their fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan, according the Associated Press. Here's an excerpt of the article:

US special forces have a novel weapon in the fight to expel Taliban from a desolate and war-weary farming community in southern Afghanistan -- heavy metal music.

When insurgents open fire in Marjah, an armoured vehicle wired up to powerful speakers blasts out country, heavy metal and rock music so loudly it can be heard up to two kilometres (one mile) away.

The playlist has been hand-selected to annoy the Taliban, according to one US special forces officer.

"Taliban hate that music," said the sergeant involved in covert psychological operations, or "psy ops", in the area in Helmand province.

In fact, this is not a "novel weapon," as special ops have been using these tactics for years. This part was priceless though:

"How effective the method is in sending the Taliban running for cover is difficult to tell, but local children certainly don't like it -- many of them cover their ears from the onslaught of loud bass guitars and drums."

Known for his multiple costume changes during live performances, Behemoth’s Nergal has signed on Lady Gaga as Behemoth’s official costume designer. The decision came when Nergal decided that he was “spending more time on his costumes and less time on the Behemoth sound.” The change will “allow him to focus less on how evil he looks and more on how evil he sounds.”

Reportedly, Nergal was impressed and subsequently contacted Gaga while watching Gaga’s “Poker Face” video. “I was fascinated by the variety and colors used [by Gaga] and immediately knew that was the direction I wanted Behemoth’s costumes to take.” Gaga was reportedly ecstatic to accept the offer and is “a big fan of the band” and has been following their career for several years. “Their image intrigues me and I’m excited to see where I can take this opportunity” stated Gaga. It’s reported that she will make much use of “lace and sequins”.

It’s rumored that there are future plans for a Behemoth/Gaga collaborative EP in the future, but that has yet to be confirmed.

Shock rocker turned movie director Rob Zombie caused a stir in Hollywood today after he announced that his next movie will be a blaxploitation film. Defying the critics, Zombie stated, "It's no secret that I love pretty much everything from the 1970s and after doing a few horrors in the vein of those times, I felt it was time to expand my horizons. The 1970s Blaxploitation films are considered some of the decades real classics by underground film fans such as myself and I want to introduce the genre to a new generation."

The movie, reportedly entitled, "Black Zombie," is said to have a story revolving around a pimp named Slick Back and his best friend, a blind barber simply known as "Spot." One day while walking past a Chinese restaraunt, Slick Back discovers the ancient "Hong Kong Book Of Kung Fu" and trains himself to a near perfect understanding of the martial art. However, while Slick Back is training and Spot is trying to discover why he keeps accidentally cutting peoples ears off, an evil corporation led by it's President Crackor S. Honkey, is planning to demolish the local hospital for disabled children and replace it with a ballroom dancing school. No further details have been revealed as of yet, though it's expected Zombie's wife Sheri Moon Zombie will appear in the film.

However, Rob Zombie has vehemently denied that the film will contain any traces of comedy, stating, "I learned my lesson from the El Superbeasto movie."

You can expect, "The Itus" to hit the screens around December but in the meantime, a trailer for the movie can be seen at this location.

Varg Vikernes, the mastermind behind one man black metal outfit Burzum, and once described as "the most notorious metal musician of all time" has once again managed to throw the metal community into a complete state of shock, as he announced today that he will be appearing in a series of commercials, posters and viral advertisements for soft drink giant, Pepsi Cola. In a deal made earlier this week, Vikernes agreed to a contract that will personally gurantee him over $5 million with more money a possibility. A statement from a Pepsi spokesperson reads as follows:

"In the past we have featured such iconic musicians as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears and the Spice Girls, but when thinking about our history with such acts, we realised that there are plenty of others who love the sweet taste of Pepsi, but are put off by our use of chart topping acts. So to make it up to lovers of great music and cola, we decided to reach out into the black metal community, one of the most underground forms of music, to help us reach a broader market. We were delighted when Mr. Vikernes agreed to promote Pepsi and eagerly await working with him."

Vikernes has defended his decision to work with the company, explaining how he believes it is in no way selfish to want what it is best for ones family and that since he no longer wants to be associated with black metal, he has not sold out the beliefs or image of the genre.

Rumour has it that following the partnership, other companies have begun seeking musicians from hard rock and heavy metal to endorse their products. Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Corey Taylor of Slipknot have both had their names mentioned as people that have been supposedly meeting with advertising execs but the only confirmations so far is that Motorhead mainman Lemmy will be endorsing and shooting a commercial for Jack Daniels whiskey and that AC/DC guitarist Angus Young will be appearing in a series of commercials for British supermarket chain Asda's "Back To School" sale this Summer.

Beloved British actor and adventurer Brian Blessed, who appeared in such films as "Flash Gordon," "Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace" and "Alexander," announced today that he will be releasing an album of original metal songs. Speaking on the issue, Blessed said:

"I first gained an interest in rock music when Queen did the soundtrack to Flash Gordon. I followed their career from then on and discovered many other bands in rock and heavy metal that I really enjoyed. I appeared on an album called 'Beneath The Failed Embrace' by a British power metal band called Pythia and after talking to the boys in the band and seeing how much fun they were having, I decided that creating my own heavy metal record would be something I would very much like to have a stab at but felt that the idea of a noted actor doing such a thing would be mocked. My mind was changed a few months ago however, when Christopher Lee revealed his metal project, Charlemagne. I definitely have to thank Christopher for making the first move with his record, as it gave me the courage to do the same. My album is entitled 'Scaling The Summit' and raws influence from a number of historical topics, as well as poetry, literature and everyday life."

"Scaling The Summit" is expected to be released sometime in late September and has been described as "Sonata Arctica meets Pantera" by those who have heard the material. The album also boasts a large number of appearances from metal musicians including Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and Motorhead guiarist Phil Campbell among other names that have yet to be revealed. More unusual news about the album is that not one, but two of Britains most loved comedians will also be contributing to album as stand-up comic, presenter and multi instrumentalist Bill Bailey revealed that he has recorded the guitar and bass tracks for much of the album, while Al Murray, best known for his role as The Pub Landlord handled the drum work on every track.

Last week Pantera’s rarely heard Christmas album was leaked online, amidst speculation that frontman Phil Anselmo is finally ready to resurrect this oft rumoured yuletide release. In a recent interview, Anselmo described the huge impact the season of giving had on Pantera when they were together, describing how seasonal cheer implicitly shaped their earlier records, urging them to duplicate some of their groundbreaking songs and translate them to a more Christmassy feel. These tracks were largely unknown as they were buried before the band’s ultimate demise. Themes of a religious nature already permeate the muddy waters of the self proclaimed kings of metal, explicitly stated in songs like Heresy and Hellbound, or subtly embedded in the sounds of this old-school, as yet unreleased album, in songs Primal Concrete Elf, We’ll Grind That Axe for Jesus, and Resurrection.

Pantera’s religious images have always leant more towards the satanic than the nativity. Their music has expressed the excruciating isolation of addiction and rage of post-glam heavy metal, their albums constantly shaped by themes of redemption and death. These old Christmas recordings, buried in the attic of Vinnie Paul, show the softer side of Pantera. The album combines the ferocity of the blasting with the brutality of the shredding, but with a new sonic depth added by the incorporation of sleigh bells into the song Mistletoe and Methadone, as well as the first cover of Jingle Bells to involve double kicks. This album sets the benchmark for metal Christmas albums, and is more daring and complex than other releases like it; Slayer’s ‘Tis the Seasons of the Abyss , Poison’s Poison Christmas, and Hatebreed’s It’s Christmas Let’s Do Windmills.

    Have a very metal Christmas.

    Track List:
    1. Mistletoe and Methadone
    2. Goddamn Santa
    3. We’ll Grind that Axe for Jesus
    4. Good friends and a Bottle of Eggnog
    5. Primal Concrete Elf
    6. Psycho Holiday
    7. Resurrection

Two years after Glen's close encounter with Bigfoot, the Deicide frontman is now claiming to have seen yet another mythological creature, The Easter Bunny. Not only that but Glen has claimed to have killed the Easter's most recognizable symbol.

"I want y'all to know that I was attacked by a giant rabbit in my own home. The thing was six feet tall, and kicked like a motherfucker. When I realized that this thing was to tough for me to fight hand to hand, I ran upstairs and grabbed my shotgun and shot the thing full of buckshot. Took three shots at point blank before the bastard went down. I'm keeping his head as a trophy."

After calling Florida Wildlife, the area was checked and tracks are said to have been found. Glen's experience was documented as an official sighting. Florida Wildlife is currently running DNA tests on the head to see if it is indeed genuine.

Yet this hasn't stopped many from wondering if this Sunday has been ruined for billions of children worldwide.

"He took my candy!" Says a five-year-old named Jenny, distraught at hearing the story of Benton murdering the holiday's most beloved figure. "I want the bunny back! Glen Benton is a poopy-head."

As far as parents, Jenny's father Steve is currently trying to convince his daughter that the holiday is about more than a rabbit bringing her a basket full of candy. "Shame on this Glen Benton. My daughter cried herself to sleep last night when she heard that the Easter Bunny died. This is the most horrible day of her life and I hope that he realizes the consequences of what he's done."

In a recent interview discussing how Cradle of Filth would be composing the music for the next Twilight film, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer accidentally let slip that she herself had been moonlighting as a musical writer for various Scandinavian metal bands. Although she indicated that she’d written several albums the only release she would openly admit to was Swallow the Sun’s latest CD. “It’s true,” she stated, “bands have been approaching me to write their music because they’ve run out of ideas. Satan isn’t selling to pre-teen girls so they needed a fresh take. I’m really surprised no one figured it out, I mean it’s even called ‘New Moon’ for Joseph Smith’s sake!” She wouldn't divulge whether the band was officially team Jacob or team Edward.

When vocalist Mikko Kotamäki was asked if Meyer was involved in the Barren Earth EP “Our Twilight” he reportedly collapsed into a fetal position and began sobbing “Why do they have to sparkle? Why oh why do they have to sparkle?” Other bands are expected to come forward soon and admit Meyer had a hand in their recent releases.

Vocalist Vorskaath of Greece metal act Zemial has issued the following update about making an appearance in an upcoming book about black metal:

"I was recently honoured with an in invitation to contribute to the upcoming book: Black Metal (R)evolution. As Black Metal courses through its third decade of existence, the music and ideals behind this social phenomenon have become subject to review and investigation: 'Spawned by Venom, channelled by Bathory and proselytized with equal degrees of worship, obsession and homage by Euronymous of Mayhem, there is an ordered evolution that Black Metal has undertaken since the opus that bears its namesake was vomited forth in 1982.

"'Black Metal is not simply a musical style; it is a cult, a religion, a malignant manifestation with one unifying theme - its exponents are all acolytes of those conjurations which preceded their own. Be that the chaotic rampage of Venom, the morbid primitivism of Hellhammer, the esoteria of Burzum, or the ritual of Von, Black Metal's present, just like its future, pays tribute to its past. And while the noise may diverge from one band to another, and the philosophy may bear factional witness, the past will always reflect on the present. The purpose of this book is to invite artists to discuss the virtue of their most revered BM albums. Prosthetic Records is currently auctioning an Epiphone Prophecy Futura Custom EX on eBay, with all proceeds benefitting the T.J. Martell Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports research for cancer, AIDS and leukemia. The guitar will be signed by the six Prosthetic acts who will play the label's inaugural SXSW showcase at Mohawk in Austin, Texas on Wednesday night (Mar. 17): Scale The Summit, Landmine Marathon, Withered, Book of Black Earth, The Funeral Pyre and Clinging To The Trees of a Forest Fire.

The T.J. Martell Foundation was recommended to Prosthetic by the management of legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who was diagnosed with stomach cancer late last year. A 501(c)3 non-profit founded in the 1970s, the Foundation has helped Dio receive key treatment in his
ongoing battle against cancer. More information on the organization can be found at www.tjmartellfoundation.org.

Prosthetic was honored to receive these words of encouragement directly from Dio himself shortly after the auction went live on Monday:

"It's great to be a part of your wonderful charitable event, and all the caring performers who are giving of themselves to aid the charity of my choice. My current misfortune has opened my eyes to the constant need for funds to battle the ravages of cancer, and I am therefore pleased to endorse your efforts to auction off an Epiphone guitar signed by the aforementioned musicians to benefit the T.J.Martell Cancer Foundation. Let's hope a generous amount of money can be raised for this ultra-worthy cause. Thanks so much for you concern and humanity. It's a gesture of kindness I will never forget.

Love and Magic to you all,
    Ronnie James Dio"

    Metal Blade TV

METAL BLADE RECORDS LAUNCHES METAL BLADE TV!
Los Angeles metal label launches website dedicated solely to spreading the word of Heavy Metal to the masses

AGOURA HILLS, Calif. - March 11, 2010 - Forerunners in the heavy metal scene since its humble beginnings in the early eighties, Metal Blade Records is once again spreading the word of Heavy Metal to the world now through the label's brand new site, Metal Blade TV. Metal Blade TV will be a place for metalheads to go and see video interviews and segments from some of their favorite Metal Blade artists in addition to other notable metal musicians and bands. Metal Blade is doing this because the label is not only about exposing its own bands to the metal community, but also bringing attention to the talents of all metal musicians out there on the scene working hard to give you music to bang your heads and pump your fists to.

Chairman and CEO of Metal Blade Records, Brian Slagel comments; "We are very excited about the launch of our own TV channel, Metal Blade TV! We are going to bring you not only content from Metal Blade artists, but from the entire world of Heavy Metal. We want to take you behind the scenes and see all the bands in a different way. Also there will be a lot of rare live video clips too! We really hope you enjoy this new venture from Metal Blade Records!"

As Brian Slagel stated above, Metal Blade TV will also host rare video clips from his illustrious collection that spans 30 years of Heavy Metal shows. There are sure to be some very interesting and never seen footage so be sure to stay tuned to Metal Blade TV to catch of glimpse of Heavy Metal history.

New videos to coincide with the launch of Metal Blade TV include:
-Cooking with John Bush and Joey Vera of Armored Saint: Part 1
-Primordial "All Empires Fall" Full Trailer in HD
-Lazarus A.D. "Revolution" Live @ Loudpark Japan
-Phil Sgrosso of As I Lay Dying takes on a tour of the not so metal instruments of the NAMM convention

    About Metal Blade Records:
The noise began 28 years ago…

A music starved kid named Brian Slagel, killing time in suburban Los Angeles, gets sick of watching the local metal scene being ignored by the major labels. Working days at legendary metal emporium Oz Records and nights putting together one of the first metal fanzines, The New Heavy Metal Revue, Slagel asks some distributor friends if they'd be interested in circulating a compilation of unsigned bands if he put it together. The distributors said yes and Metal Blade Records was born. Of course it wasn't quite that simple. Putting in long 17-hour days between Oz and Metal Blade, Slagel pieced together the bands that would grace the label's first release - The New Heavy Metal Revue presents Metal Massacre. Metallica, Ratt and Black 'N' Blue were just a few of the willing locals. Except before Metal Massacre, Metallica didn't exist.

So now for almost 30 years, Metal Blade Records has been setting the trend in heavy metal music without compromising its underground beginnings. Brian Slagel and Metal Blade Records have without a doubt had a major role in developing the American metal scene since day one and remains one of the most essential sources of metal music today. Since its beginnings in 1982, Metal Blade Records has unleashed some of the most influential and significant metal acts like Slayer, Metallica, Cannibal Corpse, GWAR, Six Feet Under, and King Diamond while developing acts like As I Lay Dying, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amon Amarth, Unearth, Behemoth, Job For a Cowboy, Whitechapel, Goatwhore, The Ocean, Soilent Green, Lazarus AD and 3 just to name a few. There are few who can argue that Metal Blade is one of the leading independent metal labels around! Constantly growing and expanding, Metal Blade has offices in Japan, Canada, and an office in the UK. Not to mention the already significant Metal Blade Records Germany whos been a strong and major force in the European scene for over a decade. By keeping a constant eye on the underground, adding some of the best bands out there to its roster, and sponsoring leading metal tours and festivals like the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival and New England Metal & Hardcore Festival, it is obvious that Metal Blade Records is here to stay!

After years of speculation, groundbreaking English hardcore band GBH has announced plans to release their eleventh studio album, Perfume and Piss, via Hellcat Records on April 5.

There isn't a self-respecting gutter punk, hardcore kid or subcultural miscreant alive who hasn't seen the GBH logo emblazoned on the back of a leather jacket, a denim vest, or a torn-up t-shirt. And now the world will be slapped upside the head with another reminder as to exactly why GBH is so important, in the form of Perfume and Piss, the legendary and iconic punk band's first album for Hellcat Records.

Barn-burning, fist-pumping, palace-gates-storming tracks like "Kids Get Down," "Cadillac One" and "This is Not the Real World" carry the torch forward with the band's trademark fury that is alternately nihilistic, optimistic, pessimistic, anarchist, violent, humorous and deadly serious all at once.

Charged GBH have been a band for over 30 years and their longevity is a testament to their purity of sound and vision. Although, as vocalist and founding member Colin Abrahall tells it, there was never anything close to a "plan." "We didn't think it'd last a week when we first got together," he says, with a laugh. "None of us could really play our instruments or do our specific job within the band. We just kind of winged it for a while. If you were born the day we formed in 1979, you'd be a mature adult now!"

Perfume and Piss is, in the band's own words, the "best album we've done in a long, long time." The album was created in fits and starts (two weeks on, two weeks off) which allowed them to fine-tune the material and compose a more complete feeling album. "We're really pleased with it," says Colin.

"We've been on various dodgy labels in the past and ever since Hellcat first started, we've wanted to be associated with it," he remarks. "To actually sign with Hellcat is a dream come true for us."

Nile has issued the following statement about Immolation vocalist Ross Dolan coming to their rescue when their tour bus driver left unexpectedly:

"So what do you do when your bus driver decides to hit the road? (...and not in a good way). Well, this very thing happened this past Saturday when Nile's tour bus driver couldn't make it to the Gallup, NM show due to 'certain circumstances' which caused Nile and their bus to be stranded at some random truck stop in the middle of the desert.

"It just so happens that the Immolation and Krisiun bus was stopped at the same place, and at the same time (weird). So, after a couple of hours of trying to find a solution, all options were exhausted, and Nile's tour manager, Punchy, went to tell the Immolation and Krisiun guys that Nile wasn't going to be able to make it to the show, because we had no available driver.

"Turns out, Ross has a Class B license, and that makes him legal to drive a bus. So, he got out of bed and drove the last four hours to the gig! So what's the moral of the story? If we can work miracles and pull this type of stuff off at the last minute to make it to one of our gigs, then this means that you should have no excuse on why you should miss one of our shows!"

Skeletal remains of what is believed to be Morgan Dana Harrington, the 20-year-old Virgina Tech student who went missing following a Metallica concert in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 17, 2009, have been found on a Virginia farm 10 miles from the concert venue.

The remains reportedly have blond hair and were clad in black clothing. Missing-person fliers for Harrington described her as blond and said she was wearing a black T-shirt with the word "Pantera" on it, a black miniskirt, black tights and black boots when she disappeared.

At a news conference, authorities said they were confident the remains are those of Harrington. "There were significant items and evidence" found to support the identification, Virginia State Police Superintendent Steve Flaherty said, although he would not elaborate. Police did not give any information about how she died. The body was being taken to Richmond for an autopsy.

The Harrington family offered a $100,000 reward for her return or information leading to the arrest of anyone involved in her disappearance, to which Metallica added another $50,000.

Metallica commented on the latest turn of events:

"Our most sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of Morgan Dana Harrington, the 20 year old Virginia Tech student who was last seen while attending our concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA. Sadly, Morgan's body was found yesterday ending her family's three month vigil hoping and praying for her safe return. Self-described "unconventional doom/grindcore" band The Way Of Purity has signed to Worm Hole Death for the release of their debut album titled "Crosscore." The album is currently being mixed by Chris Donaldson (The Agonist, Cryptopsy) right now.

The band stated: "The Way Of Purity doesn't show off with smart or cool band members. No names, no fancy photos, no effigy, no trendy musical influences and no nationality. No compromise, no way to talk or get to know us - we are the fucking NOTHING.

"Most militant bands in the past reached a superior level of strength through their message and faith. The Way Of Purity is different. The message about God intended as nature (animals and the perfection of their creation) is our faith, but the power for The Way Of Purity is a high level of inspiration, self control, and correction of human errors through the inspiration of the animal perfection.

"We are the hand of God, we're here to bring the animals' message to liars, weak individuals, prostitutes, drug addicts, nymphomaniacs and many more. We are not an organisation, we are just a potential event in every animal's life. The Way Of Purity is inspired by a blind and extremely dark dimension where Christ and Satan, evil and good, are the same. This ultraviolent dimension takes shape in the music. The voices we hear everyday are our nightmares and dreams. These voices asked us to change things, giving us the chance of salvation by becoming the hand of God and finding the real way of purity.

"Welcome to the precarious balance and the ancient code of the Way of Purity, that might hold the key to salvation..."

Both bands are planted in the Thrash Metal tradition, but while Eternal Drak incorporate much more black metal in their musical style, Guerra Total are almost a pure trash throwback straight from the 80's.

Joe Ptacek, best known for his work as the lead singer of death metal outfit Broken Hope, sadly passed away on Wednesday from what appears to be a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head. He was only thirty seven years old. A message from his former bandmate Jeremy Wagner reads as follows:

"It's with profound sadness and shock that [I report that] my friend and former bandmate — Joe Ptacek — has died.

"Joe was my high-school friend who formed a death-metal band with me called Broken Hope. We always dreamed of putting out albums and touring the world. After graduating, we achieved a lot of those dreams and released five albums, performed worldwide, appeared in countless international magazines and did a video for MTV. We were on Metal Blade Records and met all of our heroes and performed everywhere…

"Mind of the Demon: The Larry Linkogle Story" is a documentary film narrated by Lemmy Kilmeister of Motorhead screening at Slamdance on Jan 23 & 26. There’s original music from Suicidal Tendencies, Greg Hetson of Circle Jerks, Redd Kross and Bad Religion, Jason Hill of Louis XIV and Marco D. Leone with additional music is from Motorhead and Black Flag. Writer, director and producer Adam Barker says “From my first day of working with Larry I knew that Lemmy had to narrate the film. There was no second choice. Larry is the overlord of FMX and Lemmy is the overlord of metal. When we asked Lemmy backstage at one of his concerts to sign on I told him ‘there was no second choice…and if he died we’d be fucked.’ Lemmy said, ‘I’d blast up from hell and still do it!!’ True story.”

Here’s the synopsis of the documentary:

Mind of the Demon: The Larry Linkogle Story is a brutally honest look into life and mind of one of the most out-spoken, forward-thinking, visionaries ever to come out of the motor-sports industry. Larry Linkogle is a world-record holding dirt-bike legend whose off-the-cuff antics and aggressive "never sell out" attitude was the spark the kick-started the entire freestyle motocross revolution. But as the new sport took off beyond expectations, so did Larry’s battles with his inner demons. Both a thrilling recreation of the rise of freestyle motocross and a heart-wrenching account of the demise of the sport's most infamous legend, Mind of the Demon's timeline is told through incredible archival footage, and interviews with every top industry name. Past and present storylines intertwine to drive the film toward one of only two possible conclusions: one of the most unlikely inspirational comeback stories of all time or a nosedive into a black hole of self-destruction. Narrated by LEMMY KILMEISTER

"Mind of a Demon: The Larry Linkogle Story" will be shown at the following film festivals (which run in conjunction with Sundance Film Festival):

Yahoo News has issued the following report about shock rocker Marilyn Manson settling a lawsuit with former band member Stephen Bier:

A contentious lawsuit between Marilyn Manson and former bandmate Stephen Bier has been settled without the multimillion judgment the keyboardist initially sought, court records show. An agreement calls for attorneys representing former Bier to be paid $380,000. Manson's insurance company will pay $175,000 while the rest will be paid by Bier's former business managers, Manson's attorney Howard King said.

Bier sued the shock rocker for $20 million in 2007, claiming the singer kept money from him and spent it to furnish a lavish lifestyle buying Nazi memorabilia, an engagement ring and other exotic goods. Manson denied Bier's claims and said Bier didn't properly perform his duties as a band member.

Bier, who went by the stage name Madonna Wayne Gacy, was among the original members of Manson's band when it was known as Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids. The case had been scheduled to go to trial this month after frequent delays and months of fighting between the two sides over depositions, documents and scheduling.
