Driller Killer
Cold Cheap and Disconnected

MARK: 75/100

I know by experience Scandinavia abounds in crazy twisted people, but Driller Killer beat them all. Nobody will fuck your minds like these four lunatic guys through "Cold Cheap and Disconnected", a record that displays a great variety of styles in the 10 songs (fans of vinyls can enjoy a bonus track, "Open the Gates", too), a blend of crustcore, metal and punk (G.B.H., Exploited, Discharge and many more) joined with a personal slant rendering their trademark recognizable at once, and that is gonna allow the band to gain a great deal of new adepts.

A journey into violent misery, hateful brutality, detoxication hangovers and suicidal depression in fast as fuck structures, midtempos, disharmony stuck with melody, subliminal messages and even a Runaways' cover (don't worry, no concession to market).

If this band has been around for 9 years it's because they're 100% dig the music they play, and if they've arrived at the 6th album, then what better guarantee for the genuinity and quality of of Driller Killer's music standards?

Fast, heavy, rough and contemporarily purveyors of great choruses, they're partecipating to the X Mass Festival in December with Six Feet Under, Impaled Nazarene, Immolation, Hate Eternal, Dying Fetus, Marduk, Kataklysm, Macabre and Ragnarok, so it doesn't matter if you're a new or old fan of the Swedish loonies, just don't have yourself found out unprepared when you're in the show pits!
